Results – Primary School Aged
Primary school aged teams play for fun and development only. No scores are published and there are no league tables. Please do not share or comment on scores on social media. It is preferred to praise the effort, attitude and positivity of the players as they learn through their match experiences and experimenting and trying out new skills. Being able to find the positive, win or lose, is skill for life, so please aim to focus on the positive in family conversations after the game, and in particular do not pick out mistakes and errors as this can make children feel self-conscious.
As children move towards the final primary school years, there are annual league cups which introduce a little competitive drama. Studies have shown that children can cope resiliently with competitive sport in short bursts, for example two to three knock out games will decide which teams go through to quarter finals at the end of the season.
Results – Secondary Aged
The league websites above include results tables so you can track the team’s performance. In WJFL and WJSL, goal difference is not used in the event of a time. Any ties are decided by a match. You can access a full copy of the league rules from the league website.
